Each October, we are especially mindful of the men, women and children who suffer at the hands of abusers and set aside a time to recommit. This October, we are proud to also recognize the men and women who founded our community’s Domestic Violence Shelter 40 years ago and elected officials who took a stand to prevent domestic abuse.

Join us:

October 1, 2026
9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.

600 Market Street,
Chattanooga, TN 37402

We will honor our founders, and present the first Founders Award to Chairman Sabi “Doc” Kumar for introducing a bill to create a statewide registry of repeat domestic violence offenders.

We will applaud our State Representatives who voted for the bill so it could be signed into law.  Savanna’s Law is named for a young state trooper who was violently murdered by her boyfriend, a known abuser.

Finally, we will stand to recommit to the work to end domestic violence and support survivors.
