CRISIS HOTLINE - 423.755.2700 Available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Completely Confidential.
Partnership’s Rape Crisis Center provides healing to victims of rape and sexual assault. Partnership staff offers confidential quality care at no cost to the victim. The devoted nurses and advocates will help victims by attending to physical, emotional and educational needs.
Sexual Assault Advocates are available to provide crisis counseling, legal advocacy, court advocacy, follow-up case management and resource referrals. All services are confidential and at no cost to the victim. In addition to crisis counseling, a licensed professional counselor is available to provide individual trauma-informed therapy for victims seeking additional support.
Nurses can provide forensic medical examination and other medical screenings to determine if further treatment is recommended. Evidence collected is stored and protected for prosecution, should the victim choose to pursue legal justice. Victims are not required to report to law enforcement as a condition of receiving services. As a part of the forensic medical exam, nurses can offer medications to help prevent sexually transmitted diseases (infections).
The Rape Crisis Center coordinates a Sexual Assault Response Team that meets monthly to discuss new and ongoing cases of sexual assault and human trafficking utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to improve service delivery, investigation, arrest, and prosecution of sexual assault cases. This multidisciplinary team consists of members of the District Attorney’s office, several law enforcement jurisdictions in Hamilton County, as well as staff members from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Chattanooga State Community College, Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County, Homeland Security, and Partnership’s Rape Crisis Center.
An on-call 24/7 Advocate will meet the victim in a safe, comfortable environment.
Specially trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners provide forensic exams in a secure, private setting. A private shower and fresh clothing is available after the Community members wishing to find out more about how they can help victims of sexual assault can call (423) 755-2822. Volunteer your time, donate needed items, or make a financial contribution to help the Partnership help others.
