Position: BSL Housing Coach

Job Summary: Under direct supervision of the Stability and Housing Program Manager, the Housing Coach will serve as an ally to BSL clients seeking housing in the Chattanooga area. Their primary focus will be to partner with clients in locating affordable housing while also empowering them to move toward permanent living situations. In order to successfully serve in this position, some tenant-landlord training is required and then expected to be delivered in the future. In addition, the Housing Coach will provide support and coordination of housing availability in the community for all the clients of the Building Stable Lives program, which will require some travel.

Position: BSL Crisis Case Managers – 2 positions

Job Summary: Under direct supervision of the Stability and Housing Program Manager, the BSL Crisis CM will provide crisis services and resource coordination to BSL referrals who are seeking assistance related to employment, education, housing (homeless, at risk of becoming homeless) and those in need of medical or mental health referrals. The purpose of Crisis Services is to take care of the individual’s immediate need through financial assistance, such as: rent assistance, eviction notices, utility bills, transportation, childcare, and other obstacles. Immediate relief is essential for the family to engage in their economic mobility. A family can remain in the crisis services stage for 30 days up to 60 days. The BSL Life Coach and the Crisis Specialist will be working hand-in-hand during crisis services to ensure that a relationship is being established and trust is being built with the BSL Life Coach before the transition is completed.

Position: Sexual Assault Nurse, Contract Position

Under the general supervision of the Nursing Coordinator and the Medical Director, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will perform forensic medical exams on victims of sexual assault.  The forensic medical exam involves a detailed history, a physical assessment including a pelvic exam, the collection of evidence, and the administration of prophylactic medications.  The SANE must ensure confidential, quality care for victims by attending to physical, emotional, and educational needs of each patient.  The SANE may also serve as a witness providing objective observations for cases in the judicial system and may participate in a multidisciplinary team that reviews current cases for ongoing coordination.

This is a contract position that requires a minimum of four (4) twelve-hour on-call shifts each month.  Scheduling is determined one month in advance.  The SANE must adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures to ensure quality care.  SANE education and training can be obtained after hire and will be partially reimbursed by the organization.  Training may take several months to complete.

Requirements:  Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or higher with an unencumbered license to practice in the State of Tennessee.  Must live within one (1) hour of the organization.  Must have or obtain professional liability insurance.  The SANE should also have excellent writing skills, oral communication, and the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients and their families; the ability to attend meetings and training sessions; basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Word.

Position: PRN Supervised Visitation Monitor in Crisis Services/Family Connections

Job Summary: PRN (as needed) Supervised Visitation Monitor will monitor visits between children and their non-custodial parent in a safe environment.
